Is it normal to wear a bra 24/7 postpartum because I hate my body now?

Question from Emily R., 29, United States. Mama to a 2-month-old baby boy.

Oh, mama — yes, it’s normal. And if no one else has said it yet, I see you. 👀💔

In those early weeks postpartum, I wore a bra almost 24/7 too. Not because I loved it... but because taking it off made me feel even more exposed, unsupported, and honestly, a little broken inside. My body didn’t feel like mine anymore. Between leaking, swelling, and everything being sore, keeping a bra on felt like a small way to hold myself together.

But here’s the thing: your bra should feel like comfort — not a cage.

My first few nursing bras were stiff, scratchy, and miserable. I thought I had to just "tough it out" like the rest of my experience. It was hard. I hated my body. But when I finally found one that was soft, wire-free, stretchy, and breathable, it changed everything.

Suddenly, I wasn’t ripping it off the second I got home. I wasn’t crying in the bathroom because everything felt tight and wrong. I could breathe again — literally and emotionally. It was the one thing that truly felt right on me.

That feeling was the spark behind Bloom & Heal. I knew other moms needed bras that didn’t just function — they needed bras that nurtured them. Because the last thing you should be worrying about is a band digging into your skin while you're already doing the hardest, holiest work of your life in an already changing body💗

If you're wearing a bra 24/7, that's okay, mama. But please — let it be one that reminds you how worthy you are of softness, comfort, and grace. Always. Your body is beautiful. Give yourself some grace, and you'll eventually embrace this new version of you. It's different, yet absolutely priceless.

Love,
Lina P.
