How do I deal with feeling gross in everything I wear postpartum?

Question from Samantha L., 33, UK. Mama to a 7-week-old baby boy.

Oh, mama — I felt this deep in my postpartum skin. I remember staring at piles of clothes and wanting to cry because nothing felt right. Everything was either too tight, too loose, or just reminded me of who I used to be😔 I didn’t recognize my reflection — and I definitely didn’t feel like myself.

But here’s the truth I wish someone had whispered to me sooner: you don’t need a makeover. You need a moment.

For me, that moment was something as simple as slipping on one soft, stretchy nursing bra. Not one of those stiff, clinical ones — but one that actually felt gentle. It hugged me in all the right places, didn’t dig into my ribcage, and made me feel a little more like me again.

It wasn’t just a bra. It was a reminder that I was still worthy of comfort, softness, and self-care — even in the middle of spit-up, sleepless nights, and healing. That tiny shift changed how I showed up for myself. I didn’t need to fix everything all at once. I just needed one small thing that didn’t make me feel worse.

That’s exactly where Bloom & Heal was born — from that foggy, emotional, milk-stained moment where I realized: moms deserve better. Better support, better fabrics, better feelings. You deserve to put something on your body that whispers, “You’re doing amazing,” not, “You don’t fit anymore.” 💗

Start tiny. Start kind. Your body is sacred, and your comfort matters.

Love,
Lina P.
