This dalgona matcha latte is a fun, nourishing twist on the coffee version that took the internet by storm. It's also one that doesn't require driving anywhere (because leaving the house with twins feels like I'm going on a month-long expedition!) LOL

Also, instead of a caffeine jolt that leaves you jittery, the matcha offers a gentle energy lift that helps you stay calm :) It's pure magic with a slice of my Banana-Date Bread or Lemon-Yogurt Loaf. It’s creamy, earthy, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat without the crash.

Paired with chilled oat milk, it’s refreshing and satisfying, a perfect pick-me-up for that afternoon slump or a quiet morning ritual. The honey adds just the right touch of sweetness to balance the earthy notes of matcha.

Ingredients (This is It!)

For the whipped layer:

  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For the latte base:

  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey, or to taste
  • Ice

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder, hot water, and honey.
  2. Using a small whisk or a fork, vigorously whisk the mixture until it becomes a thick, frothy, and creamy paste. This will take a few minutes of continuous whisking. Milk frother wands are also perfect for this (and quiet!!)
  3. In a glass, add ice. Pour in the oat milk and stir in the honey for the base.
  4. Carefully spoon the whipped matcha mixture on top of the oat milk.
  5. Take a photo, then stir, and enjoy immediately!

Tips For the Best Pregnancy-Safe Dalgona Matcha Latte

  • Serve it hot: If you prefer, skip the ice and heat the oat milk in the microwave for 30-40 seconds before adding honey and spooning the whipped matcha mixture on top. I love this for chilly days!
  • Use dairy: When I'm out of oat milk, I just steal some of my husband's dairy milk from the fridge and the latte is just as delicious :)

How to Store this Pregnancy Dalgona Matcha Latte

  • Fridge: The whipped matcha mixture can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. The texture will deflate, but it will still be delicious stirred into the oat milk.
